Our Story

In March of 2023 we provided testimony to the Owensboro City Commission concerning drag shows at the publicly funded RiverPark Center. I told them that as a child I looked around our community and in dismay saw a church on every corner. Now, through adult eyes, I thank God there is a church on every corner.

In recounting that testimony to a dear pastor friend, I was rebuffed. He said that's the problem. There is a church on every corner and they're all singing from different hymnals. Owensboro and Daviess County once had pastors who weren't afraid to stand against things that were a detriment to the values that made Owensboro and Daviess County a special place. Worldly pressures have changed that. It’s a problem that plagues communities across our nation, and without the moral compass our pastors represented, our local, state, and federal governments have lost their way. So, Daviess County Citizens for Decency was created to fill that void. We are the voice your churches have had taken from them. While we welcome anyone who shares our values, we are unapologetically Christian conservatives. All we do is measured against the Word of God.

Mission Statement

Many Houses, One Voice
Daviess County Citizens for Decency is a unified voice, in all arenas of society, representing all participating members and Houses of Worship. Issues important to our members, measured against the Word of God, constitute our mission. Seeing God’s Will be done is our goal.

Who we are

We are your neighbor, your pastor, your coworker, the person sitting next to you on Sundays or at a ballgame. If you are a conservative Christian, who is frustrated with what’s happening in our community, we are your voice.
